OUR STORY
The Pangle Pavilion at the Greater Lima Region Park & Amphitheater opened in the summer of 2024. Located in beautiful Downtown Lima, this is the one of the newest, and arguably one of the best live performance destinations in west central Ohio.
During the planing and construction of this venue, The Smith-Jones Family Foundation partnered with local musician (Sax B), and together we pursued the vision of hosting a FUNdraising event that would provide a unique outdoor musical experience, and generate resources to support local and Foundation programming, including the "Be GREAT" Book Scholarship, Summer Youth Golf Program, Lima Educational Field Trip, Lima/Allen County HBCU Support Village, along with programming to support and encourage current and future musicians.
On August 17, 2024, the inaugural Lima Music Festival showcased some of the best musical and artistic talent from the greater Lima area including the Voices of Harmony, Courtney Owens, K. Ferentay, Sarah Henderson, Latrell, Will Guice and Sonny Campbell. The event concluded with the final "Sax In The City" tour stop featuring local saxaphonist and LMF Co-Founder "Sax B".
In year two, the Lima Music Festival is a highly anticipated musical event that will bring together artists and passionate community members for another unforgettable outdoor music experience. This year's event will showcase a diverse lineup of performers spanning genres such as Jazz, R&B and Funk music, including performances from the top three finishers from the recent "419 DAY - Open Mic Night" talent showcase. Food and Merchant Vendors will provide a variety of delicious cuisine, beverages, art, jewelry, clothing, photos and festival swag.
